Who We Are

TEDDY'S RESCUE, INC. is a small private 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter based in Findlay, Ohio for dogs and cats. We rely entirely on private donations and receive no monetary assistance from local, state or government funding.

Our Mission

The mission and vision of TEDDY'S RESCUE, INC. is to place dogs and cats, of all sizes and all breeds, who currently have no home into a loving, forever home.

We are committed to providing the animals that come to Teddy’s Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their forever homes. This includes each animal being spayed or neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations and on heartworm maintenance.

We place animals in loving, responsible, committed, permanent homes following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing an animal into their homes and lives.

We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.

Policies and Procedures

Adoption Process

Our goal is to provide the best possible match for you and your dog or cat. Our staff will work with you to identify your interests and needs to provide the best possible match for your home. Once that match has been determined, please follow these steps to complete the adoption process.

The detailed adoption process is outlined on the dog and cat adoption pages of the web site.

Surrender Process

As a no-kill shelter, Teddy's Rescue can only take in as many animals as we currently have space for, and animals that will be a good fit for our shelter environment. By law, all lost or stray animals must go the Animal Control Division of the Humane Society & SPCA of Hancock County.

We accept owner-surrender animals. Pet owners should contact the rescue to provide information about the dog or cat for evaluation for surrender. For those animals accepted, we will schedule an intake appointment for a temperament and health evaluation as space becomes available.

There is a surrender fee of $30 for cats and $40 for dogs.

Euthanasia Policy

Teddy's Rescue, Inc. is a no-kill shelter. We do not euthanize due to time constraints or due to an animal's breed or age. Euthanasia is reserved for animals who pose a serious danger to themselves or others, who are terminally ill, or whose quality of life is in question. Euthanasia is humanely performed by a licensed veterinarian, licensed veterinary technician or a certified euthanasia technician. Animals are cremated at Pet Cremation Service, Inc. Columbus, OH.
